Investigational Study for Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is the involuntary loss of urine when engaging in daily physical activities such as coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising. It affects up to 30% of women between the ages of 20 and 64. We are currently evaluating an investigational procedure for the treatment of SUI to determine its effectiveness in decreasing the symptoms of SUI. This outpatient, in-office procedure requires no incision and no hospitalization. The procedure takes 30-45 minutes and patients usually go home within 1-2 hours. Patients can resume most normal activities within 2 days.

Duration of Study - 1 year:

Subjects who participate in the study will be asked to maintain contact with the study doctor for 1 year.

Office visits will occur pre-procedure for screening, 2 and 6 weeks after treatment and then at 3, 6 and 12 months post procedure. Subjects may also receive phone calls as part of the study follow-up.

The cost of the procedure and all follow-up office visits will be covered by the sponsoring company, Solarant Medical Inc., Livermore, CA.

Participants must meet the following criteria (partial list):

  • Age between 25 and 65 years old
  • Completed child bearing or willing to use contraception for study duration (1 year)
  • Currently experiencing urine loss when laughing, coughing, sneezing, lifting items, exercising, etc.
  • Never had previous bladder or incontinence surgery
  • Never had radiation treatment of the pelvis

If you are interested in participating in this trial and qualify based on the items listed above, please call 612-239-1121 for more information and further screening.
